It was a big weekend for Democratic presidential candidates and the songs they picked to walk out to was an interesting mix, with The Clash represented twice, and two local faves. Dessa's "Bullpen" is what Amy Klobucher also used at her snowy announcement rally on Boom Island earlier this year and Kirsten Gillibrand choose Lizzo's "Good As Hell"! Lizzo also took over our top spot, holding off Vampire Weekend and Billie Eilish who were both at The Armory at the weekend.

Inducted to our Chart Hall of Fame for the fifth time this week is Hozier, who stunned Brian Oake with an ode to Irish Whiskey, and some of his own songs recently.

Inducted for the third time, putting him at #62 on the All-Time Hall of Fame Chart is Gary Clark Jr. who'll be at Surly Brewing Festival Field this year on August 9.

Highest new entry is an old fave Craig Finn of Hold Steady fame. This is a track from his 'Carver-esque' third solo release, which he discussed with Mac Wilson at the weekend. They also marveled at the Twins "offensive surge" this season, before his Fine Line show.

Hope you're enjoying delving deeper into some of the Rock The Garden artists this week? New at #16, The Beths are the most recent addition to New Zealand's clever songwriting tradition.

Our friends at Radio Milwaukee did a nice web article on some of the songs their faves "Can't Stop Listening To..." Johnny Marr picked Lizzo's "Juice" and Sharon Van Etten picked "Gladly" by Tirzah. Sharon is back on our chart this week at eighteen, with "Jupiter 4".

Still no further details about the St. Vincent produced new album from Sleater-Kinney which should be coming soon. But they have got some interesting eye make-up and a nude body suit on what appears to be the art work for it and The Palace Theater date October 15 is one of many already scheduled across the country. They come in at #19.

The Comet Is Coming are a trio built around the improvisational saxophone playing of Shabaka Hutchings. They're just one of the projects he's been involved with over the past five years, as a new jazz collective in London has spawned several much lauded groups including Sons of Kemet, who were nominated for the Mercury Music Prize last year. They're playing Bonnaroo this weekend and will also drop by the Turf Club on Saturday night and hopefully do a session for us on air that afternoon. They're brand new in our basement space.
