"I've got to know how this story ends," Reina del Cid sings on "Mile In Your Shoes," the story of a relationship that includes a stop in a bar "where we got karaoke famous."

The Minneapolis singer-songwriter is far more than karaoke famous these days, having just released her latest full-length album, Morse Code. She's been touring the state of Minnesota on the Minnesota Music Coalition's Caravan du Nord, which she described to Local Show host Andrea Swensson as a "really cool" experience and a "huge honor."

Morse Code was inspired by the acoustic flavor of del Cid's hit Sunday-morning video series, she said. "A lot of new people have found us through that, and I wanted to put out an album that sort of reflected more of the sound of those videos." She wanted to "strip it down" with more of an unplugged vibe, she explained.

Guitarist Toni Lindgren continues to be a bandmate and close collaborator, and she's also performed with other artists including, recently, Lissie. Lindgren said it's been a "huge learning experience" to tour in Lissie's band. "It's been really amazing to get to travel with that group," she said, "because Lissie is such a powerhouse."

Next month del Cid and her band are taking off on a North American tour, and we'll look forward to having them home again soon.
