I wonder if The MN Orchestra are now honoree members of Doomtree? They are back on top with Dessa's "Velodrome", which isn't really about bikes. Her First Avenue show on Feb 27th sold out in three hours, but she is playing Mankato, Rochester and La Crosse very soon.

Polica, slipping to nine, have just released their new album and start touring in the UK, playing First Ave on Friday April 10th. Thanks to their producer and co-songwriter Ryan Olsen they have never failed to up the ante for our in-studio sessions, lots of lasers!

Highest new entry this week is another from Michael Kiwanuka's new album. He'll be on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert TONIGHT! Don't worry if you miss it The Current updates it's TV calendar page every day with video highlights.

Also a high new entry at #13 are The Drive-By Truckers, who apparently are very popular in Leeds, England. They just tweeted this week that their June 4th show has been moved to Leeds University, my alma mater, because of overwhelming demand for tickets!

Speaking of my old home towns...Angel Olsen, who grew up in St. Louis, my first home in the USA in 1983, is new at nineteen and also causing a stir across the pond, booking her biggest tour yet there this summer. The Guardian just did a nice catch up profile of her where she says she doesn't want to be a "pop-star".

And brand new in the basement this week is Soccer Mommy who also just got a nice write up in Rolling Stone, talking about the forthcoming color themed album "Color Theory" out on February 28th.

For a band who have already sold out their Valentines Day show at The Turf, Heart Bones like to skew the romance with "Open Relations" climbing to #17 this week. If you don't have any plans for the big night yet, stay in with me for some of The Greatest Love Songs of All Time, yours! Make a dedication for your special someone now, early requests are ALWAYS more likely to be included!

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win a pair of passes to the 11th Annual Winter Beer Dabbler at the MN State Fairgrounds Midway in Falcon Heights, MN on February 22, 2020.
