A few years ago, California Senator Kamala Harris made a music playlist celebrating African-American Music Appreciation Month.

That playlist has resurfaced this week, as presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has chosen Senator Harris as his running mate in the 2020 election, making her the first African American and the first Asian American to be chosen as the running mate of a major party's presidential candidate.
