People can say, "Who invented rock and roll?" I think a lot of people would tell you it was Chuck Berry.

Undoubtedly, I think it is fair to say that Chuck was the King of Rock and Roll; he was, after all, playing blues and R&B, and then he made it a little snappier.

The cool thing about any documentary about Chuck Berry is every guitar player in the world, when they're honest, says, "Yes, every guitar player steals from Chuck Berry." Whether you know it or not, you are.

In this documentary, from director Jon Brewer, we hear from people like Keith Richards, George Thorogood, Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons and Johnny Rivers. We also hear from Themetta Berry — Chuck's former wife, who is so sweet and so supportive, and she calls him Charles — and from Berry's children and grandchildren, and they're all very musical as well.

Chuck Berry is a legend. He was the first person to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Chuck Berry: The Original King of Rock and Roll is streaming on Amazon, Direct TV, Fandango, Google Play, iTunes, Sling TV, Tubi, Vimeo, Vudu, Xbox and a handful of other platforms. It's also on DVD and the Blu-ray comes out on Friday, Nov. 27.
