It's always important to learn your history of Minnesota music, and the genre of hardcore was short-lived — although, of course, if you loved it then, I'm sure you're still carrying the flag now. The Black Flag.

TPT Originals has a series, Minnesota Hardcore, that's all about that scene in the early 1980s. It's directed by David Roth, and the music is explosive. All the people that were on the scene at the time are interviewed. It's really, really enjoyable to see a lot of these people now and how they still love and believed in the whole hardcore thing.

I'm up to episode five, and you can find the whole Minnesota Hardcore series posted on the Twin Cities PBS TPT Originals website.
