The Current Playlist

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to log in to rate songs or make requests?

Creating a profile tracks your requests and ratings, then keeps a record for your reference. It also allows The Current staff to share your name in requests and determine what songs are rising up in the ratings. Also, The Current plans on adding more tools to the profile pages in the future to allow users to do more with our catalog and playlist.

Help! The playlist isn't automatically updating. What's wrong?

Currently the new playlist does not automatically update. We hope to have this functionality in a future upgrade. The most current information will appear each time you access or refresh the playlist.

Why don't you have [Song/Artist] in your catalog?

Our catalog only lists songs that we've set up within our system; not every track from an album is displayed. You may request a song that's not in our catalog by using our request form. You may also suggest a song be added to our catalog by contacting The Current.

Why don't you have every song from an album listed on the Song Detail pages?

Just like our catalog, our Song Detail pages will only list songs that we've set up within our system; not every track from an album is displayed. You may request a song that's not in our system by using our request form. You may also suggest a song be added to our catalog by contacting The Current

Why don't you ever play [artist] if you have the music in your system?

Our goal is to have as many artists and songs as possible in our database. With over 21,000 songs, many will not be played as often as we'd like.

How come I can't rate certain songs or there's no link available?

When a DJ plays something outside of our system (like a CD or an hour long program), that functionality is not available.

How come some songs are listed twice in the catalog?

If the track is a remix or different than the album version, it will be noted in the title. Sometimes, even though we try to be tidy, duplicates do creep in. Contact us and we'll fix it!
