Listen The Local Show for December 4, 2011
Dec 4, 2011 Join Minnesota Public Radio's David Campbell as he explores the Twin Cities local music scene, both past and present. Tune in to hear rare songs, live tracks, and in-studio performances.
On this week's episode of The Local Show, I'll be joined in the studio by Wallets front man Steve Kramer. Steve and I will be talking about his days as a rock n' roll exhibitionist and his work writing all the music for the holiday show Of Mirth and Mischief - which is taking place at The Fitzgerald Theater December 16-18.
In hour two, Mark Gehring from Vega productions will be dropping by to chat about the third volume of the Minnesota Beatle Project. We'll get the scoop on this year's model. Plus, The Honeydogs will in the studio with us to perform their contribution and a few other Beatles songs.
We'll also hear new music from Mystery Palace, The New Standards, a Toki Wright and Tapes 'N Tapes mash-up, BNLX covering the Replacements, Trampled By Turtles and Motion City Soundtrack covering each other, and a song from the recent Polica session recorded right here in The Current studios.
