Feb 24, 2013 Join David Campbell as he explores Minnesota's local music scene, both past and present. Featuring rare songs, live tracks, and in-studio performances.
On this weekend's episode of The Local Show, we'll have an in-studio with Van Stee, a band that played our first installment of Local Current Live last summer, and has been working on their debut We Are ever since. The band will release the album at Icehouse on March 2.
Teenage Kicks host Jacquie Fuller is also in the house to explain the new episode of Current Presents this Sunday night at 9PM, exploring the Beck Song Reader project. She and John Miller assembled 14 bands to read and interpret the sheet music to his newest album. We'll play a few cuts and hear a portion of Jacquie's interview with Beck himself .
Lastly, the finalists have been announced for the next installment of Vita.mn's Are You Local? contest. We'll talk about each act and see you down at Mill City Nights on March 1 to watch one band receive a trip down to SXSW.
And don't forget! Local Current Live is this Thursday night at the Amsterdam. Doors at 6PM, music starts at 7PM. 18+, free, featuring Prissy Clerks, The Ericksons and Greg Grease (in that order). Click the image below for more info!
