On this weekend's episode, we'll have two in-studios. Lizzo stops by with producer Lazerbeak to perform songs off her debut solo album Lavabangers in the first hour. In the second hour, new quintet Sun Gods To Gamma Rays will play songs from their debut EP — the act features lead vocalist Caetani. Josh Grier of Ginkgo will also premiere two remixes of "Faded Glory" by Lazerbeak and Erik Appelwick of Vicious Vicious. And Andrea Swensson has check-ins about Minnesota musicians competing on reality singing competitions, as well as two bands heading to Iceland for a music festival.

Lizzo performs for The Local Show

There is perhaps no greater local success story over the past year than that of Lizzo's. A transplant from Houston and Detroit, she made a splash in the Twin Cities first with her band Lizzo and The Larva Ink, and then as a member of The Chalice and GRRRL PRTY. All of these bands have grown her profile substantially, and a slew of guest spots on other local records from the likes of Caroline Smith, as well as her connection with the Totally Gross National Product and Doomtree crews has only helped in that growth.
