Seattle-based singer/songwriter Rocky Votolato used to play in a punk band, but you'd never guess it from his spare, folky solo style.

Currently on tour with Lucero despite the demands of having two young children back at home, Rocky brought his guitar, his harmonica, and his warm, modest amiability up to the studios of 89.3. Here he talks with Jill Riley about having his music featured on "The O.C." and working with the folks at his new label, Barsuk.

Songs performed: "White Daisy Passing," "Portland Is Leaving" and "Mix Tapes/Cellmates."
