Every town has their "super-group," and in Portland, Oregon, it's the the indie/psychedelic/alt-country quintet Blue Giant. Comprised of members of Viva Voce, Decemberists and Swords, along with other local Portland musicians, the group was born out of Kevin and Anita Robinson's hiatus from Viva Voce after touring with The Shins and Jimmy Eat World.

They started playing gigs in 2008 and released an EP in 2009. Their self-titled full-length debut was released this year on Vanguard Records.

They stopped by The Current to perform in our studios.
