9:30 Coffee Break: Nudie Suits

March 12, 2013

Nudie Cohn and his suit
Today's 9:30 Coffee Break theme is artists who've worn a Nudie Suit.
Autry National Center

Nudie Suits. You may not be familiar with the name, but you have probably seen one or two before. They are the decorative, rhinestone-covered suits that became signature looks for many of their owners during the 60s and 70s. While the suits were most popular in decades past, they are still being worn by artists today.

How about an all Nudie Suit edition of the 9:30 Coffee Break? Give us your suggestions for musicians known to wear a Nudie Suit.

Songs Played:

Porter Wagoner - "A Satisfied Mind"

The Flying Burrito Brothers - "Christine's Tune (Devil in Disguise)"

Jack White - "Freedom at 21"

Wilco - "The Late Greats"

Hank Williams - "Move it on Over"
