Movie Maven: 'From Up on Poppy Hill'

MPR's Movie Maven, Stephanie Curtis, joins Steve Seel and Jill Riley to review From Up On Poppy Hill, a new anime film from Japanese director Goro Miyazaki. The voice cast includes Gillian Anderson, Beau Bridges, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bruce Dern, Ron Howard, Chris Noth and Aubrey Plaza.
Stephanie describes From Up on Poppy Hill as the story of a young girl, Umi, trying to find her place in the world. Set in 1964, Umi's story takes place as Japan prepares for the Tokyo Olympics amidst the lingering privations in the years after World War II.
Stephanie also discusses My Neighbor Totoro, a classic anime film from Goro Miyazaki's father, Hayao Miyazaki.
