MPR News Arts Reporter Marianne Combs joins The Current's Steve Seel and Jill Riley to talk about three arts happenings that celebrate our long-awaited springtime.

Art in Bloom: Professional florists create arrangements inspired by artwork in this exhibition at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Visitors can walk through the galleries, smell the flowers and look for the artistic interplay between the floral arrangements and the pieces in the MIA's collection. Art in Bloom starts tonight and continues to Sunday.

St. Paul Art Crawl: Because the weather outside is no longer frightful, the St. Paul Art Crawl is an opportunity to walk around and explore St. Paul's various art galleries, artists' lofts and art shops. The St. Paul Art Crawl runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with maps and additional information at artcrawl.org.

By the Seat of Our Pants: This new show by Interact Center is a mash-up of headlines and pop culture, combining elements ranging from Honey Boo Boo to Downton Abbey, from North Korea to the Harlem Shake. Interact Center challenges perceptions of disability and opens doors for artists with disabilities and for audiences eager to experience their work. By the Seat of Our Pants opened Wednesday and it continues until May 18 at the Interact Theater in Minneapolis.

Plus, hear about a new art installation happening at the MOMA in New York this weekend, featuring music by The National.

Marianne Combs joins The Current's Morning Show for the Weekend Arts Roundup every Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Read about all the latest arts news at the State of the Arts blog at mprnews.org.
