"Give us today hors d'oeuvres in bed, as we forgive those who have dressed up against us" – John Hartford

Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee met while performing at a bluegrass festival in Winona, Minn., and soon found they had common musical interests. That was less than five years ago, and in the process of learning songs and touring, Kendl and Palmer have just released their fourth and fifth albums already. Just like the line in the Hartford poem where they got their name "The Lowest Pair", the two have a great sense of humor — which is sorely needed when you travel as much as Kendl and Palmer do.

When they decided to record the fourth album last winter, the Lowest Pair found they had way too much material for one record. So they split the songs thematically into two albums, which were released digitally on April 16, with physical versions — CD and vinyl LP — coming out on May 27.

The Lowest Pair stopped into the Radio Heartland studio to play some music from their new records, Fern Girl & Ice Man and Uncertain As It Is Uneven.

Songs Performed

"Waiting For the Taker"
"When They Dance The Moutains Shake"
"Keweenaw Flower"
The first two songs are from the Lowest Pair's 2016 album, Uncertain As It Is Uneven, and the third song is from the Lowest Pair's other 2016 album, Fern Girl & Ice Man; both are released on the Team Love Records label.
