The Chart Show: Have a Bon Hiver in Eau Claires!

"Throughout the last 11 years, the identity of Bon Iver has bloomed and can only be defined by the faces in the ever growing family we are," says Justin Vernon.

Bouyed by fans trying to get in to the 'Lock Inn' event at The Oxbow Hotel in November, Bon Iver take the top spot for the second week in total. The band have just a few dates in DC and Raleigh this week before taking a break for the holiday season, except for the Lock Inn AND... a smaller version of their summer festival Eau Claires Hiver November 21-24th.

Inducted into our Chart Hall of Fame this week are: Chance The Rapper for the 5th time, Of Monsters and Men for the sixth, and Lizzo for the sixth too, putting her at #29 on the All Time Hall of Fame.

Highest new entry this week at seven is not a new song at all, but a single originally released by Spoon back in 1998 when their "Series of Sneaks" album was ruling the world!

The show at The Pantages recently featuring Nick Cave taking questions from the audience for 3 hours was... Absolutely Amazing!!! He didn't even mention the album that was going to appear two days later, new at #8! It has been getting rave reviews, some calling it the best in his 40 year career!?! But his blog posts on The Red Hand Files, the inspiration for the Conversation Tour, make as much news now as his music does.

Our Album of the Week is Wilco's new Ode To Joy. They have sold out two of the three shows they've booked at The Palace in November, you can still get into the Sunday show.

Climbing seven places to thirteen on only his second week on the chart, Velvet Negroni got another nice bump this week as City Pages released its Picked To Click Poll. He came third behind Green/Blue, who play Saturday at The Turf, and Nur-D!

Also up five places this week to 14 is Soccer Mommy, one of the acts that we discovered last year broadcasting from the Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik. They've just released the full line up for this year, which we will be covering again.

Also playing at The Palace Theater tonight...in Columbus Ohio, The Head and the Heart are back in the basement. They wrap up the first leg of their tour next week with three shows in Canada, then return for some big gigs leading up to Christmas.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to Toro y Moi at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN on October 30, 2019.
