Sound Unseen, Minneapolis' annual festival of films about music, returns this fall with a full slate of films whose topics range from cartooning to hardcore, from the history of radio to the stories of musicians both obscure and legendary.

Jim Brunzell, director for the Sound Unseen festival, stopped by to talk to The Morning Show's Steve Seel and Jill Riley about this year's offerings.

Films Mentioned:

20,000 Days on Earth:
An innovative drama/documentary featuring Nick Cave as both the subject and co-conspirator, intimately documenting his artistic process and combining it with a fictional staged narrative of his 20,000th day on Earth.

Finding Fela:
The documentary interweaves the recent Broadway show FELA! with period interviews and performances from Fela Kuti.

Lambert and Stamp:
A look at the history of The Who, and the two men who shaped their sound and appearance.

God Help The Girl:
Writer/director Stuart Murdoch (singer/songwriter for Belle and Sebastian) creates a coming-of-age story that doubles as an indie-pop musical.
