Taggart and Rosewood perform live in The Current studio
by David Campbell, Leah Garaas and Taggart and Rosewood
February 02, 2015
Taggart and Rosewood are Totally Gross National Product's latest mystery, but you'll hear some similarities to their labelmates. As blogger Andrea Swensson writes in the web premiere of "The Eastern Five (Shot on Site)":
That sense of familiarity comes because the two masked men are no strangers to local music fans: they're superproducer Ryan Olson (Polica, Lizzo, Marijuana Deathsquads) and Zach Coulter of Solid Gold. Olson and Coulter were two of the driving forces behind 2010 phenomenon GAYNGS, and now they're reuniting under the names of two characters from Beverly Hills Cop.
Though Coulter and Olson tell the Local Show's host David Campbell that their debut album The Killingist—written at 55 beats per minute—has been in the works since 2010. "It's been very back burner-y," says Coulter in a disguised voice. Understandable as Jim Eno, who has been busy touring and recording with his longtime band Spoon, drums on the record.
Taggart and Rosewood celebrate the release of The Killingest at the Triple Rock Social Club on Friday, March 13 with opening acts RP Hooks, Perez., Psymun and Plain Ole Bill.
