En route to SXSW and touring in support of their forthcoming full-length debut My Love Is Cool, London's Wolf Alice stopped by The Current studio to chat with host Mark Wheat and to perform tracks live in The Current studio.

Wolf Alice—Ellie Rowsell (lead vocals/guitar), Joff Oddie (guitar), Theo Ellis (bass) and Joel Amey (drums)—got its start in Northern London a few years ago when Ellie, Joff and their friend Sadie played open mic nights as a folk unit. The audience at open mic nights, however, aren't always there for music. So Joff and Ellie thought, "If we played louder, maybe they would listen!"

It's all been uphill from there. "Bros" caught a lot of attention in the UK when Huw Stephans of BBC Radio 1 gave it a spin in late 2013. Most recently their single, "Giant Peach" from the forthcoming My Love Is Cool, was named "Hottest Record in the World" by Zane Lowe just before he left radio to work at Apple.

Listen to the full in-studio to hear Ellie, Joff, Theo and Joel chat with Mark about American cuisine, what's in store for their South by Southwest gigs and how The Simpsons inspired the video for "Moaning Lisa Smile."
