9:30 Coffee Break: Hologram Hopefuls

by Jill Riley and Sean McPherson

June 23, 2015

Yesterday it was announced that the late, great Patsy Cline will be performing on stage again — 52 years after her death, in hologram form. In partnership with Cline's estate, Hologram USA, the company that first brought Tupac Shakur's holographic performance to life at Coachella in 2012, will reveal Patsy's hologram next year ahead of an interactive, concert featuring both a "live" performance commentary. The company has also brought Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson back to life for one-off performances, with "celebrity resurrection" of Liberace and Buddy Holly on the way; Patsy Cline is both Hologram USA's first female and first country project.

All this hologram talk got us thinking about what iconic artists we would pay hard-earned cash on to see perform "live" in hologram form, making our bucket list a reality.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear by late, great artists that you'd like to see perform in hologram form? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Patsy Cline - "Walkin' After Midnight"
Ramones - "Sheena is a Punk Rocker"
Nirvana - "On a Plain"
Buddy Holly - "Dearest"
Jimi Hendrix - "Purple Haze"
Digital Underground - "Same Song"
