After Hours with PaviElle, "Sometimes You Wanna Be" and "Runnin'"
by MPR

PaviElle French is an unparalleled live performer. When she strikes up her band and opens her mouth to sing, she looks as if she's being transformed to another time and place all together--and she wants to take us along for the ride.

In an intimate exchange between herself and host Andrea Swensson, PaviElle opens up about the transformative experience of performing and her love of music. Their conversation is sandwiched around an epic, sprawling, 10-minute-long performance that features the songs "Sometimes You Wanna Be" and "Runnin'" off her debut album, Fear Not. The songs flow into one another as the band often performs them in the live setting, and they showcase the full range of the nine-piece group's chemistry, charisma, and talent.

PaviElle performs at the Fitzgerald Theater on Tuesday, November 10, as part of Kerri Miller's Talking Volumes series, and she will bring her full band to Icehouse on Wednesday, November 25, to ring in Thanksgiving Eve.
