We asked, you voted! All December long, you — the local music lover — voted for your favorite artist or band social media accounts, and the results are in!

The winners mostly ended up being on Twitter, excluding Father John Misty (R.I.P. Josh Tillman's Twitter). If you're on Twitter or Instagram, be sure to follow @TheCurrent.

Then tune in to The Current's listener-curated Top 89 countdown on Dec. 31, 2015 starting at 5 p.m. CT with a rebroadcast on New Year's Day starting at 10 a.m. CT.

5. Run the Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike) on Twitter

Together Killer Mike and El-P make for one hell of an entertaining Twitter timeline. The former has his fair share of tributes to 420 while the latter tweets his stream of consciousness, seemingly unedited. Among the lighthearted fun, Killer Mike manages to sprinkle in serious support for democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders.

4. Lauren Mayberry/CHVRCHES on Twitter

With a mix of "TFW" reaction .gifs, support for causes and organizations including racial injustice and Planned Parenthood, #tbt pictures and vocal support for other women in music (including past CHVRCHES tour opener Lizzo!), Lauren Mayberry maintains a fresh and honest Twitter account.

3. Har Mar Superstar on Twitter

Har Mar Superstar is an open book and a gem and should be cherished by all living in his native state of Minnesota.

2. Hippo Campus on Twitter

Hippo Campus retweet a lot — and I mean a lot — of adoring fans, but there are certainly diamonds in the rough. The emerging Minnesota group tweet a healthy balance of behind-the-scenes photos, nonsense and fan appreciation.

1. Father John Misty on Instagram

Father John Misty's Instagram can be broken down into four phases: First, there was the computer generated image phase, followed by basic level text memes that fall flat. Then Tillman got really into stock photos. Lately, he is enjoying real life by way of WiFi with a cell phone super glued to his hand while eating ramen with the other.
