We can't guarantee that we will play "Jump" by Van Halen, but we can at least all think of it fondly together.

Songs with one-word titles are nothing new, but they are on the rise.

Priceonomics has compiled a chart that shows that we are in the era of the shrinking pop song title. The chart shows that the probability of a one-word title today is two and a half times greater than in the 1960s.

It could be a branding issue, it could be easier for fans to remember, it could be more easily searchable for downloading. However you look at it, the pop markets are focused on making their products easy to consume and part of that strategy is to shorten them up.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, let's listen to one-word title songs.

Songs played

Fame - David Bowie
Maps - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Surrender - Cheap Trick
Crazy - Patsy Cline
Velouria - Pixies
September - Earth Wind and Fire
Unsatisfied - The Replacements
