Dennis Warner is back on home turf for a few local concerts. That's something that a musician can't say often when making a living by traveling. And, you have to carefully plan your "home" concerts so not to wear out your local fans.
This weekend, Warner is doing a special Earth Day concert at the Paramount Theater in St. Cloud, a venue he remembers attending as a child.
Warner always knew he wanted to be a performer, but during the past decade or so, he has discovered his songs have taken on extra meaning. When he wrote "Beads On One String," the song turned into a book and eventually into a curriculum for area schools to teach about anti-bullying and about diversity.
Dennis Warner and members of his band, the D's — Derrick Raiter on percussion and Dan Neale on lead guitar — stopped into the Radio Heartland studio to talk about some upcoming shows.
