Music News: Charles Bradley cancels tour in wake of cancer diagnosis

Charles Bradley has canceled his upcoming tour dates, disclosing that he has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. "I'm getting the best medical care and we are all extremely optimistic," wrote the singer in a statement. "I will fight through this like I've fought through the many other obstacles in my life." Prince estate developments

As this week's Paisley Park drama unfolds, there's been a revelation regarding Prince’s potential heirs. According to court filings, descendants of Duane Nelson have acknowledged that though the name of Prince's father appeared on Duane's birth certificate, in fact Duane's biological father was a man named Joseph Griswold. The question now: whether biological kinship is required for Duane's descendants to inherit part of Prince's estate, given that Prince called Duane his brother. (Star Tribune)

Scorsese to release new Dylan doc footage

Martin Scorsese will celebrate the tenth anniversary of his Bob Dylan documentary No Direction Home by releasing a special edition of the film, including over two hours of previously unseen footage. The new footage will include vintage clips of Dylan, as well as extended interviews with Scorsese, Dave Van Ronk, and Liam Clancy. (Rolling Stone)

R.I.P. Terrace Theatre

Robbinsdale's Terrace Theatre has been torn down, after preservationists failed to raise the $6.3 million required to save the postwar landmark from the wrecking ball. Advocates hoped to turn the movie theater — which had been closed since 1999 — into a venue for music and other live entertainment. (City Pages)

Ramones to have street named in their honor

A street in New York will be named after in honor of the Ramones. "Ramones Way" will be the new name of a street marking the main entrance to the Queens high school that all four original band members attended. (Billboard)
