Planned and completed before Sharon Jones's death on Nov. 18, 2016, the video for Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings' rendition of "Please Come Home For Christmas," from their 2015 album It's A Holiday Soul Party! was released Dec. 20, 2016. The video recalls the style of the stop-motion animation used by classic Rankin-Bass TV holiday specials, such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

The video for Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings' take on "Please Come Home for Christmas" follows a forlorn man who pines for his estranged love as he observes others spending the holidays with their loved ones. Claymation versions of Jones and the Dap-Kings also feature in the story. Watch the video here:

In recent weeks, family, friends and fans gathered in Brooklyn, N.Y., and in Augusta, Ga., to celebrate the life of Sharon Jones at memorials held in the cities Jones called home. And beginning Jan. 7, 2017, the documentary Miss Sharon Jones! will be available worldwide to Netflix subscribers.

"Our friend Sharon has always been at the heart of Daptone and always will be," wrote Daptone Records co-owner and The Dap-Kings band leader Gabriel Roth in a recent letter to fans. "I am so grateful to her and to all of you for putting your hearts into all of this in so many ways."
