The Current and Children's Minnesota have announced a series of Rock the Cradle activities to keep families busy and active this winter season!

The new, expanded Rock the Cradle series of events kicks off with a Afton Alps Ski Party on Sunday, Feb. 12. In addition to outdoor activities, attendees will be treated to a pop-up concert from Koo Koo Kanga Roo and McNasty Brass Band. The Current deejays will also be on hand to spin tunes and there will be plenty of arts and crafts activities for the whole family. Plus s'mores, an open house at ski school and a freestyle throw-down in the park. Limited edition neck buffs available to the first 500 people. The event is free, but lift tickets and equipment rentals are not included. For every lift ticket sold during the event on Feb. 12, Afton Alps will donate a ticket to Children's Minnesota for families to come out and enjoy a day of skiing. RSVP on Facebook »

On Sunday, March 5, The Current and Rock the Cradle presents award-winning singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb at the Fitzgerald Theater for a family-friendly concert. Loeb will perform her critically acclaimed children's music at this special morning-time concert. Tickets will go on sale to MPR members on Tuesday, Jan/ 10 at noon and to the general public on Thursday, Jan. 12 at noon. Tickets are $5 for children under the age of 12, and $25 for adults. Our free annual Rock the Cradle event happens Sunday, April 9 at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Children's Theatre Company campus. This daylong event will feature perennial favorites such as the kids' disco, story time with The Current hosts, live music and more. The complete lineup for the day will be announced in early March.
