Teague Alexy: singer-songwriter, father, author — and now, a podcaster, too. The Duluth-based musician is also one-half of The Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank (together with his brother Ian) and now, Teague Alexy has a new solo album called Circuit Sessions. Teague says he had most of the songs ready when he arrived in the studio, but he also found some half-written ones that he finished just for this project.

The production team on the album comprises Eric Pollard (aka Actual Wolf) and Steve Garrington (from the band Low). Teague credits them for "putting some muscle behind my songs" and sometimes totally rearranging the songs to get them ready to record. They also changed up the feel on some of the songs; for example, adding a reggae touch with help from guitarist Jake Hanson (Haley Bonar). Erik Koskinen and Marc Gartman also contributed their expertise.

The CD release party for Circuit Sessions happens Friday, April 7, at the Hook and Ladder Theater in Minneapolis with Teague and his band, along with his brother Ian Alexy, the Thirsty River String Band and more.

Teague Alexy stopped by the Radio Heartland studios to chat with Mike Pengra about the album and also to talk about his new podcast, "Wisecracks and Roadside Flats."
