CHVRCHES hold on to the top spot this week ahead of their two shows next week at The Palace Theater. Both nights are sold out but they're letting us live stream Oct 3rd! And we're also streaming the Death Cab for Cutie show on October 6, which there are tickets for.

Speaking of sold out shows, you might want to look ahead as we get into the traditionally busy month of Rocktober here in the Twin Cities. Some big shows coming that might sell out soon, like #3 Mitski October 26.

And Florence and the Machine, highest new entry at seven, coming to Target Center October 20.

Hippo Campus slip two places this week to eight, but they came in to chat to David Safar for New Hot this week, describing the process of putting together their new 'Bambi' album. As always you can listen to the audio archive.

Childish Gambino, aka Danny Glover goes up two places even though it's starting to feel NOT like summer here in MN! He cut short a performance in Dallas at the weekend. Apparently aggravating an already existing injury that turned out to be a broken foot!

Shout outs to all the good people of Frebella, a wonderful music fest I MC'ed at the weekend. Proceeds went to benefit The Emily Program Foundation, our Call To Mind team were there, MPR's new mental health initiative and our friends from Dissonance, who put on an interesting panel with HALEY and Peter from We Are The Willows talking about living a healthy lifestyle on tour. Brand new at #13 this week is Hozier, who also discussed this topic, saying it helps to have an Irish road crew!

Kurt Vile's new solo album, 'Bottle It In', comes out October 12th and the first single comes in at sixteen. He just announced a huge world tour throughout the fall and winter including First Ave on December 19.

Prince is back on our chart!! The first posthumous release from the storied vault at Paisley Park came out Friday and is our Album of the Week, a rare gem that was initially just a cassette of him singing to himself!

Atmosphere's new album comes out next week and they start their huge national tour on Friday in Grand Rapids Michigan, wrapping up in Nashville Dec 8th, so they can be back home for the holidays. As the title suggests, 'Mi Vida Local' is inspired by our community, Slug's wearing Minneapolis on the tour poster.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to The Current's Death Cab for Cutie giveaway at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul, MN on October 6, 2018!
