Foals formed in Oxford, England, in 2005. Currently, Foals are touring in support of their fifth studio album, released on March 8, 2019, and titled Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1. As the name suggests, a sixth studio album is not far behind; Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2 releases in September of this year.

While Foals were in town for a show at First Avenue in Minneapolis, drummer Jack Bevan and guitarist Jimmy Smith stopped at The Current for a Theft of the Dial hosted by Jade. Bevan and Smith played some of their favorite songs.

Foals have a long history playing in Minneapolis. "I remember we used to play at 7th Street Entry, we played that a bunch of times," Smith says. "And then we eventually did play [in the Mainroom]. It was great — nice to graduate to First Avenue."

As luck would have it, Foals' tour schedule gave them a day off in Minneapolis. The extra time allowed them to make a delightful discovery. "It was basically one of those kind of amazing, accidental nights out where I wasn't planning on even going out at all," Bevan explains. "We walked into this place, Bunkers.

"It was insane," Bevan continues, describing his visit to a club that has been a preferred spot for many of Prince's collaborators. "It was one of my favorite nights out in the States of all time. Just so many boxes were ticked. The band were unreal — some of the best players I've ever seen. And they're playing classic, amazing songs. … It was just one of those nights where I think we kind of stumbled into the best club in the world and had no idea, and we kind of had our minds blown by it."
