On this weekend's episode of The Local Show, we're celebrating Women's History Month. And you know what that means: David Campbell's been kicked out of the studio again, and Andrea Swensson is taking over the microphone!
There are a ton of goodies in store. In the first hour, Andrea will give an oral history of female-fronted rock n' roll bands in the Twin Cities in the '80s and '90s, featuring interviews with Tetes Noires, The Clams and Kat Bjelland of Babes In Toyland.
In the second hour, Dana Raidt and Travis Ramin will announce the line-up for the next installment of the Girls Got Rhythm Festival at the Amsterdam Bar and Hall May 10 and 11.
And The Anonymous Choir, led by Dark Dark Dark's Nona Marie, will drop in for a gorgeous in-studio performance. Lastly, we've asked some of our favorite local female musicians to let us know who has inspired them the most in their careers, and we'll hear from several of them during the show.
