Exploring the musical legacy of Prince and beyond
Duluth musicians Liz Draper, Clancy Ward and Kyle Ollah will set out July 21 from the Twin Cities for a series of socially distanced pop-up shows down the Mississippi River aboard the Ivan Doer’d, a built-out pontoon boat. Along the way, they'll be joined by special guests Charlie Parr, the Ditchlillies and others. Read a story about this tour, posted on the Local Current blog.
Faced with a summer of cancelled shows and absent of their regular busy touring schedules, the group of friends who specialize in traditional old-time Americana, decided to take things into their own hands. “Life has dealt us all quite a bit of lemons. We’re taking to the river and doing what we know best — making music," Ollah says. "We're trying to create something positive and we’re privileged enough to be in a position to do this — so we’re doing it.”
Proceeds will go to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
