Dead Man Winter
Often when Trampled By Turtles is not touring or recording, band members Dave Simonett & Tim Saxhaug can be found performing with Dead Man Winter.
Playing a bull-bodied, emotionally resonant brand of Americana-infused indie rock, Dead Man Winter is a group led by Dave Simonett on vocals and guitar, and fellow band member Tim Saxhaug on vocals and bass, accompanied by Erki Koskinen on electric guitar, Lars-Erik Larson on drums and Brian Nichols on keyboard.
GLITTERATTI
Glitteratti consists of songwriter Marc Gartman on guitar (Two Many Banjos, Fever Dream), Dave Carroll on electric guitar (Trampled by Turtles, Two Many Banjos), Tim Saxhaug on bass (Trampled by Turtles, Dead Man Winter) and now joined by Lars-Erik Larson (Dead Man Winter) on the drums. Their 2020 debut full length album 'Among the Wild' was produced by Steve Garrington (Low) and released on March 6th, 2020. Pop, funk and smooth soul swings and grooves with catchy melodies and sing-a-long choruses have made them a crowd favorite here at Earth Rider.

LITTLE FEVERS
Little Fevers is an indie-pop group from Minneapolis fronted by songwriter Lucy Michelle.
In 2013, Lucy Michelle, Eamonn McLainn (Trampled By Turtles), Ashley Boman, and Geoff Freeman were the remaining founding members of the folk-pop orchestra, Lucy Michelle & The Velvet Lapelles. After seven years of recording and touring, with families and careers blossoming, the Velvet Lapelles parked the touring van and disbanded.
Their friendship and love of creating music inspired them to try a new direction. So in 2014, they traded their acoustic instruments for electric guitars and synthesizers. Reflecting their new sound, they adopted a new name, Little Fevers, and soon were tracking new songs in both Brooklyn and Minneapolis. Their debut record, Field Trip, was released in 2015, blending their electric indie sound with new wave influences.
LAZY LIGHTNING 420
Erik Berryn(Trampled By Turtles) n partnering with Duluth-based singer-songwriter Marc Gartman (Two Many Banjos, Glitteratti), Erik is exploring the songs and sounds of the Grateful Dead. Rather than simply performing their favorite Dead tunes, Gartman and Berry are performing entire Grateful Dead concerts, drawing the set list from the records kept at Archive.org.
"This way we play the whole vibe of the show," says Gartman. "I wouldn't choose to open a set with 'Hell in a Bucket,' but Bobby did, and that dictates everything we do after that." Berry concurs, "For our first show we learned 'El Paso.' Not my favorite tune to listen to but it definitely puts us into the space of the set. We also tackle drums and space, which is outside our ordinary musical styles." While LazyLightning420 is essentially a mandolin-guitar duo, both players utilize an array of sound effect devices to present an electric concert. "I use an envelope filter on 'Shakedown Street,' says Berry. "I have some distortion pedals. It's a rock band at heart."
