Mae Simpson Band
The Mae Simpson Band blurs the lines between a wide range of influences. Fueled by the depth and energy of funk and rock, they take their hooks from the melodies of R&B and folk. The band is led and named after Mae Simpson whose “voice is larger than life — but not as large as her uncontainable energy that radiates from the stage” – Helen Teague – Minnesota Public Radio
Known for their intense and exciting live shows, the band has an immediate impact that favors the human connection between the musicians and the audience. Active since 2018, the band started out by securing opening slots for acts like Dermot Kennedy, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and more. Since then they have become a powerful headlining presence in the Twin Cities and beyond, playing notable stages like First Avenue, Fillmore Mpls, Basilica Block Party, and Blue Ox Festival. If you are a fan of artists such as Alabama Shakes, Lake Street Dive and Bruce Springsteen, Mae Simpson is right up your alley.
The People Brothers Band
The People Brothers Band’s unique brand of rhythm and soul features some of the most talented vocalists and musicians in the region. The vibrant group of longtime friends, collaborators, and multi-dimensional artists formed in 2008 as an open-mic songwriting outfit and hasn’t looked back since. The band has cultivated a captivating musical alchemy through collective dedication to their craft, the Midwest music community, and each other. United by their shared vision of uplifting friends and fans through music, the band released their most recent album, Sisters & Brothers, in 2023.
