The Jayhawks originally formed in the winter of 1985 in Minneapolis. Founding members Gary Louris, Mark Olson, and Marc Perlman haven't performed together as The Jayhawks since 1995 -- until a reunion in Minneapolis earlier this month with members Tim O'Reagan and Karen Grotberg.

The band has been playing shows in Europe during the spring and summer of 2009, including Barcelona's Primavera Sound Festival.

The reunion gig served as the official launch party for the Jayhawks' latest offering, "Music From The North Country: The Jayhawks Anthology," a new CD containing rare and previously unreleased tracks, new music, as well as a bonus DVD featuring music videos and live footage.

The band stopped by The Current studio for a live performance and conversation with Steve Seel.

Songs performed: "Red's Song," "Leave No Gold," and "Two Hearts."
