Although their debut album, "Palace," was released less than two months ago, the London quintet Chapel Club have already created quite a stir in the indie-rock world. Their shoegaze-influenced sound has captivated the British music press, and that buzz has started to bleed over into the US scene, aided by high-profile gigs like their performance at this year's South by Southwest festival.

However, this recent wave of sudden success has in fact been a long time coming for the band. The first iteration of their lineup came together in 2007, and after a year of name and personnel changes, Chapel Club cohered in 2008. After frequent gigging, the band released a string of singles and EPs in 2010. "Palace," which collects many of these songs and augments them with newer material, is out now on Universal records.

Chapel Club stopped by The Current studios to play a few songs.

Songs played: "O Maybe I," "Roads" and "The Shore."
