Friday Five: Gigamesh is glamorous, Mark Mallman posts a very long video, and more

Let's ease into our weekend state of mind together, shall we? As we wind down another week, here's a look at a handful of cool items to come out of the Twin Cities music world over the past five days:
1. Gigamesh gives us a glimpse of the DJ life
What's it like being a burgeoning DJ? Well if you're Gigamesh, who achieved national recognition for his work on Mike Posner's Top 40 single "Cooler Than Me," it involves spinning bangers at sweet parties and going home to watch your stack of fuzzy televisions. Glamorous!
2. Mark Mallman uploads entire career to YouTube
Like watching a caterpillar crawl into its cocoon and re-emerge a beautiful caterpillar with wings, you can now experience the progression of Mark Mallman's entire recording career in a single YouTube video. Five hours and 45 minutes of Mallman may seem like a long stretch, but it's actually only 7% of the length of his last marathon, which makes me very tired just thinking about it.
3. The 4onthefloor parody Mumford & Sons
This one was also included in a post earlier this week about the whole Howler-on-Minneapolis debate, but it was such a popular video online this week that I'd be remiss to skip over it here.
4. Luke Redfield releases long-awaited Tusen Takk
Head to the Varsity Theater tonight to celebrate a new album from talented singer-songwriter Luke Redfield, who collaborated with Minnesotans Jeremy Ylvisaker, Haley Bonar, Peter Pisano of Peter Wolf Crier, Martin Dosh, and many more over a two-year period to make Tusen Takk. 5. Night Moves do Daytrotter, prep debut 7" for Domino Records
Though they intially offered up their entire debut album, Colored Emotions, as a free download online, Night Moves have since pulled the record off shelves and are reworking the songs for a national release via Domino Records. The first single, "Headlights," will be released as a 7". Check out the new version of the single below, and for more Night Moves you can listen to their Daytrotter session here.
