About the hosts

Mark Wheat (The Current, Minnesota)

Mark Wheat is heard weekdays 6-10 p.m. on The Current and has been a DJ with the station since it launched in 2005. He tries to emulate his hero, the late, great BBC DJ John Peel, introducing new music to the audience by mixing it with songs they know and love. Wheat was raised near Cambridge, England, permanently relocating to the United States in 1983.

Mark Sovel (KCSN, Los Angeles, CA)

Mark Sovel (aka Mr. Shovel) hosts KCSN's popular "City Of Night" program every Saturday and is a veteran of the LA radio scene. Previously the host of Indie 103's local music show and a producer of "Jonesy's Jukebox" with the Sex Pistols' Steve Jones, he has developed a reputation for breaking new bands in the region.
