Just this morning, Kathleen Edwards tweeted that she had lost her voice and was canceling a handful of upcoming shows, including her stop in Minneapolis on April 15. This afternoon, the Varsity Theater confirmed the news that her show will be postponed to September 28. The silver lining is that they do say that they hope to push the performance to a later date rather than canceling it all together.

"After weeks of suffering from symptoms of vocal strain and burnout, I've decided to postpone shows and rest my voice," Edwards said in a written statement. "A very fun but gruelling few months of concerts, press and promotion has given me little time to rest, and it has finally caught up with me. After a second round of doctors visits and steroids to help stave off the symptoms of fatigue, I realize the only option now is to go home to allow my throat to heal."

The Varsity theater will honor all original tickets at the Sept. 28 show.
