It's Friday and we've got just the thing to get your weekend started off right: STAGE. DIVING. MAYORS. Need we say more? Read on for our five favorite items to rock the local music world this week:

1. Trampled by Turtles and crowdsurfing mayors

The Duluth band caused such a stir this week that both the Duluth and Minneapolis mayors declared Wednesday Trampled by Turtles Day -- and then proceded to christen their proclamation by diving off the stage and into the audience at the band's sold-out First Avenue show. I had originally planned to post the excellent new Trampled video for "Alone" here, and you can still find that below, but first let's all take a moment to enjoy the sight of Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak leaping into the crowd at the 1:40 mark of the first video and encouraging Duluth Mayor Don Ness to follow him.

2. Aaron & The Sea have a moody piñata party

Brooding synth pop totally makes me want to smash some piñatas. Aaron & The Sea are celebrating their new full-length Creature Creature at Hell's Kitchen on April 27 with UMAMI, I, Colossus, Gentle Lovers, and we are happy to debut the video for the track "There There Creature Creature" below.

3. Is/Is are not witches, trust them

Is/Is are releasing their new full-length III tonight at the Turf Club and just released a very cool and crafty video shot by talented local photographer Emily Utne. Before you get any funny ideas, lead singer Sarah Rose would like you to know: "I'm, in fact, not a witch."

4. Dylan Hicks makes a funny

True story: The main reason I am including this video here is because it makes Mark Wheat laugh out loud at his desk. If you've never heard the sound of a charasmatic British radio host cracking up uncontrollably, trust me -- it's a beautiful sound.

5. Murzik creep on us all

Murzik will wait outside your window, wait for you beside a flickering campfire, wait for you in the woods with an array of thoughtful presents and a violin. Creepy, or cute?
