1. The Rope turn 'Water to Wine'

Minneapolis new wave quartet The Rope made their YouTube debut this week with a new video for "Water to Wine," filmed at the Varsity Theater by area photographer Mike Minehart. Next month, The Rope will be one of only a handful of local acts appearing at the River's Edge Music Festival June 23-24 along with Poliça, Motion City Soundtrack, Quietdrive, and headliners Tool and Dave Matthews Band. The backstage area for that thing is gonna be weeeeeird.

2. Pennyroyal show their love for NoDak

Who knew Minot, North Dakota was such a banging town? It was the setting for a music video that came out last fall from High on Stress, and is the subject of this new track off of Pennyroyal's Places EP. After watching this video, I kind of want to go there too. Road trip!

3. K.Raydio steps out

You may recognize K-Raydio from her work as a backing vocalist for M.anifest, MaLLy, or Vision the Kid (in fact, she appeared on a Vision track that was featured in this space just last week). This new track finds her front and center -- and, as the title suggests, it is in fact a catchy hook. Find it on her Significant (Other) EP.

4. Brother Ali speeds it up

Another in a series of warm-up tracks released by Rhymesayers in advance of Brother Ali's next full-length, Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color, this one features the rapper blasting through his verses at breakneck speed and showing off his tongue-twisting abilities. Intense!

5. Trampled by Turtles cover Arcade Fire
