Jason Pierce has always been one to triumph over setbacks. Bouts of long-term sicknesses — in some cases almost fatal — threatened to put the cabash on Spiritualized early. But Pierce has used his musical project as a sort of healing potion, and we've seen some of the brightest albums of the band's career as a result of his time in and out of hospitals.

His appearance at First Avenue in May was the first in years, and a ravenous Twin Cities fanbase welcomed he and his band back with open arms. For those who missed it, The Current recorded and aired the entire show, and now we're able to provide it for you to stream online.
