As mentioned last week, there are a lot of high-profile releases from Minnesota artists coming out in these early months of 2013. And what better way to keep up with the influx of new music than with some snappy videos?

Read on for a handful of the sights and sounds to surface this week...

1. Dessa preps a new album

First up this week is a new offering from Dessa, who released this B-side of sorts from her Castor, The Twin record to tide fans over while she finishes up her new full-length. It's a reworked version of "Matches to Paper Dolls," a song that originally appeared on her breakout A Badly Broken Code, and it's arranged here to suit the more stripped-down cabaret stylings of that Castor, The Twin release.

2. Greycoats go prog

This latest release from Greycoats reminds me quite a bit of non-"Somebody That I Used to Know" Gotye, which in turn reminds me of '80s prog-pop artists like Peter Gabriel. The video for "No Encores" was created over the course of two years by designer Nathan Schroeder, who says "I wanted to capture the idea of coming to the end of yourself, in a place you aren’t quite acquainted with."

Greycoats play an album-release show for their new World of Tomorrow this Saturday night at the Ritz Theater.

3. Atmosphere go bowling

Part new song, part old song, this new Atmosphere video picks up where their track "Millennium Dodo" left off and takes the viewer on a ride to Memory Lanes, where the whole crew (including Kevin Beacham and Prof) goes bowling.

4. Usonia go into the studio

I've said this once already, but this new Usonia single "How Does it Feel?" is such a fun, funky little jam. Experience the track from a new angle in this video, which follows the band into Northeast recording studio the Pearl, and catch the band live at the Entry on February 15 when they celebrate the release of their new full-length, What's Fresh.

5. And Villa go Off the Record

I keep meaning to check out Villa live, and this video offers up the next best thing. It's a cut from their recent in-studio session on Radio K's weekly all-local show Off the Record. Find more songs from Villa's November 2012 release Plains, Fog, Cold and Snow on their Bandcamp.
