Charles Bradley streams new record, drops video for 'Strictly Reserved for You'

Video for Charles Bradley's new single 'Strictly Reserved' from the forthcoming record 'Victim of Love' (Daptone Records)

The Screaming Eagle of Soul's lead single "Strictly Reserved for You" from the forthcoming Victim of Love release has a new video. Sit back and brace yourself... there will be donuts.

A visual style reminiscent of 1970s cinema plays nicely alongside the fuzzed-out guitar, tight horns, and Bradley's gritty wails (and dance moves!).

While the tight horn section and expert guitar playing is nothing new to those familiar with the Daptones roster, the songwriting feels a bit more universal, and Bradley definitely seems squarely in his element with the new material.

Perhaps Bradley's endless touring and endless hugs -- the man hugs virtually everyone after each of his shows -- has helped make all the musical elements align for this grateful singer.
