Today in Music History: The Beatles Release "Let It Be"

History Highlight:
Today in 1970, The Beatles twelfth and final album, Let It Be was released (it had been recorded before Abbey Road and was originally to be called Get Back). The Beatles were unhappy with the original mixes, done by Glyn Johns, and the record was temporarily shelved. A new version was mixed by Phil Spector in 1970 and that was the version that was released.

1976 - Willie Nelson joined in on guest vocals at a Bob Dylan concert in Houston, harmonizing with Bob on "Will The Circle Be Unbroken." Meanwhile, law enforcement officers were lurking backstage to serve Willie with a subpoena for an investigation involving drug trafficking.
1990 - Frito-Lay used a Tom Waits sound-alike in a Doritos spot and paid dearly for the unauthorized usage. Waits won a $2.5 million lawsuit.
