Local music fans who miss any of the defining Twin Cities rock bands of the '90s and early aughts will be pleased to know there's a solution to their nostalgia with new group The Starfolk.

The faces behind the tunes are familiar. Featuring members of The Hang Ups, The Owls and Jelloslave, the quartet evokes a sort of quasi-chamber pop aesthetic, uniting the best aspects of all of their separate projects to form this new self-titled album.

Comprised of Brian Tighe, Allison LaBonne, Jacqueline Ultan and Stephen Ittner, The Starfolk dropped by The Current studios for a Local Show session with David Campbell. Hear them talk about genre-bending, their new collaborative label Korda Records, playing music with friends and more.

Songs performed: "Midnight Moon," "To The Gate" and "From Above"
