Listener Jared wrote in to remind us of the recent passing of Vixen guitarist and founding member Jan Kuehnemund. Vixen was the Twin Cities' first all-female rock band and Kuehnemund had been called "a female Bon Jovi."

In honor of Jan Kuehnmund and all the other female rockers out there, let's put together a list of songs from women who rock for today's 9:30 Coffee Break.

Only a week left to sign up to get live music from Wits guest Rhett Miller and Gigi's Cafe delivered to your office. Jill and Steve will load up the van on Oct. 25 and swing by your workplace to cheer up your Friday. Just email: CoffeeBreak@TheCurrent.org

Songs Played:

Vixen - "Edge of a Broken Heart"

Savages - "She Will"

The Runaways - "Cherry Bomb"

Wanda Jackson - "Riot in Cell Block 9"

Sonic Youth - "My Friend Goo"
