Video: Going record-shopping with Dawes

One of our listeners won a stupendous prize: going on a shopping spree at Minneapolis' venerable record store, The Electric Fetus, with the band Dawes. (MPR / Nate Ryan)

Dawes have built a loyal fan base here in the Twin Cities, often selling out not one but two nights worth of shows at Minneapolis' First Avenue and Varsity Theater.

When the band came to town to perform on Dec. 30 and New Year's Eve, The Current did a VIP giveaway on air including a chance to spend record shopping with Dawes at the Electric Fetus (The Current and Fetus footed the bill!), so we documented the fun winner Todd J. had with Dawes. Enjoy!

What Todd Bought

The 4onthefloor — Spirit of Minneapolis
Father John Misty — Fear Fun
Sly and the Family Stone — Fresh
Cypress Hill — Black Sunday
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds — Nocturama
