David Bowie is 68 today. Born David Robert Jones in 1947, Bowie has been major figure for over four decades in the world of popular music. He is widely regarded as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. Bowie is held in high regard for his powerful voice, the intellectual depth and considerable eclecticism of his work, and his distinctive sense of visual style.
